 | Position: | | Director, Religious Diversity and Loop Campus Ministries | | Location: | | DePaul University - Chicago, IL | | Description: | | DePaul University, a diverse Chicago-based urban institution and the nation’s largest Catholic University with a student population of 25,000 students, seeks a visionary religious and higher education leader to direct its Office for Religious Diversity and Loop Campus Ministries (RDL). RDL fosters and supports the diverse religious and spiritual life and student religious organizations at DePaul, with special attention to those of all backgrounds and traditions other than Roman Catholic (which are the focus of a distinct Catholic Campus Ministry office). The RDL Director leads and manages a team of professional staff and works collaboratively with others throughout the University community and beyond, to form and grow vibrant faith communities of students while working actively to build a positive culture and effective programs supporting interreligious / interfaith understanding, dialogue and cooperation on campus. RDL is one of three offices comprising DePaul’s University Ministry, which functions within the Division of Student Affairs. | | Requirements: | | • Masters degree required in the area of ministry, theology, religious studies, student development or other related field.
• Minimum 5 years experience in managing professional staff.
• Minimum 5 years experience in ministry, preferably with young adults/college students in higher education context.
• Proven experience in program assessment and evaluation, strategic planning, and budget management
• Identifiably grounded in a particular faith tradition, community and practice – ordination preferred.
• Proven commitment, experience and competency in the religious formation and spiritual development of college students/young adults.
• Proven commitment, experience and competency in interreligious dialogue, relationship-building and programming.
• Articulate public speaker and writer, particularly on matters of faith/religion, to a diversity of constituency groups.
• Proven ability to lead public prayer and/or ritual.
• Ability to travel across campuses to meet with University partners as needed
