The three years I have spent in campus ministry have been both unpredictable and incredibly fulfilling. Prior to being ordained a priest I had never considered serving in campus ministry. Yet, God’s providence touches all things! My very first priestly assignment included serving as the Director of the Catholic Student Union at Florida State University. After cutting my teeth there for two amazing years, our new bishop asked me to take the reins of as Director of Catholic Campus Ministries at the University of West Florida where I have now served for the last year.

These two experiences could not have been more different. One is a large, established ministry while the other has spent the last twenty years trying to put down any kind of roots.

My many mistakes have taught me many more invaluable lessons. At every turn CCMA has helped my ministry by providing professional formation and peer encouragement. Without CCMA it is likely I would not even be in campus ministry any longer.

And so it is with humble gratitude that I have accepted the confidence you, my peers, have placed in me. I look forward to being of service to each of you. Together we can gain greater clarity in our vision and increase our ability to provide our campuses with a living and faith-filled Catholic presence.

My cell phone and inbox are always open and at your disposal! May we never forget that the best way to strengthen our mission is to keep one another in prayer. May the Lord, who has begun this good work in us, bring it to completion.
